Music On the Mountain

Presented by Music on the Mountain Society, this three-day annual music and arts festival features original and independent music and art from all over BC, Canada and around the world. Check out the fantastic food vendors, artisans and visual artists. Bring along the kids for childrens’ workshops and activities.

Greensides Chainsaw Carvings

Famed chainsaw artist Glenn Greensides has three of his early works prominently displayed in Fort St. James. An RCMP officer is located at the police detachment; a prospector is at the Visitor Information Centre, and a logger stands as a worker’s memorial at the municipal office.

Fort St James Public Library

Come check out the Bicentennial Library with its friendly atmosphere and open study space. Located at 425 Manson Street, the library carries a wide selection of books and research material for all ages and free Internet access is available.

Community Arts Council

The Community Arts Council of Fort St. James presents music and visual arts presentations several times a year. They also provide educational opportunities.

Music Makers

Always entertaining, the Music Makers of Fort St. James are an amateur theatre company that presents several shows each year at the Music Makers Hall.

Farmers Market
Fort St. James Farmers’ Market is open on Friday afternoons, May through September. You can purchase produce, baking and crafts produced by local and regional farmers and artisans.
Annual Craft Fair

The craft fair held each November at Fort St. James Secondary School has dozens of artisans and vendors showcasing their wares. It’s a great place to start your Christmas shopping and support local and regional talent.
